MealArc is an iOS nutrition tracker for people who log what they eat. It estimates calories and macros from a photo of a meal, a typed description or a scanned menu, then tracks them daily alongside Apple Health data.
It is free on the App Store (iOS 17 or later) and calls Supabase edge functions and Google Gemini vision. MealArc for Android, a Kotlin app that also uses Supabase, is in development.
What it does
- Photo, text or menu-scan input; detects several items on one plate and reads nutrition labels
- Calorie and macro tracking with progress rings, weight trends and goal projection
- Apple Health sync for active and resting energy, steps and workouts
- Apple Watch app, home-screen widget, Siri Shortcuts and a share extension for photos and screenshots
- Shows a confidence score per item; editing an entry makes the AI recalculate it
