GhostWriter

Speak into any app and get clean, polished text typed for you

Android app Published Since Oct 2026 Platforms: Android and macOS

GhostWriter is a voice-typing app for people who would rather speak than type. It turns speech into clean, ready-to-send text in the apps you already use: it removes filler words, fixes grammar and punctuation, matches the tone of the app and takes voice edits such as 'make this more professional'.

The backend is a TypeScript Cloudflare Worker with Durable Objects and Supabase. The Android app is on Google Play. The Mac version is in internal TestFlight testing and is not publicly listed.

What it does

  • Starts from a floating button, voice keyboard, shake-to-dictate or edge swipe in any text field
  • Voice edits: say 'scratch that', 'new line' or 'turn this into bullet points'
  • Speak in one language and type in another, with 40+ output languages
  • Three modes: cloud, on-device after a one-time model download, or your own OpenAI key
  • Tone follows the app; a personal dictionary keeps names and terms spelled your way
